Does Smithbrook Tuition share the information the company receives?

We also maintain paper records of the data collected which are maintained  in secure storage. Our personnel who have access to the data have been trained to maintain the confidentiality of such information.

How long is data kept?

Your data is retained for as long as is necessary for the purpose that it was collected for. We are obliged to keep certain data to fulfil certain legal obligations and matters of record keeping e.g. financial records which we are required to keep for 6 years. Any data that is retained is minimised to ensure that we are only keeping only that, which is required. We will securely delete all data when it is no longer required. If you ask us to cease marketing communications, we will add certain of your details, name and email address to a suppression list, this will ensure that you not contacted by us again.

Information you give us

You provide most of such information when you request further information about our products and services, make a booking or booking enquiry or communicate with us regarding our services or in response to our newsletter. As a result of those actions, you might supply us with such information as your title, name, email address and phone number.

When you enrol with us the following information given and stored on a database: name of student, medical conditions, date of birth, school year, school attending, address, email address, home and mobile telephone numbers. Reason for attending, assessment scores, date started, initial day attending, areas of learning.

Your Rights

Under GDPR you have rights over your data.

You have the right to:

  1. Request access to your personal data we hold about you, this will be free of charge in most cases. If you want to access your personal data, please let us have details of the personal data you want to see and proof of your identity by email:
  2. Correction of your personal data if it is out of date, or is incorrect
  3. Erasure of your personal data from our records in certain circumstances
  4. Restrict processing in certain circumstances as outlined in the ICO guidance. You have a right to require us to stop processing your personal data in a particular way.
  5. Object to the processing of your data in a certain way
  6. Portability of your data, you wish to request of copy of your data and take it elsewhere.
  7. Withdraw your consent

If you wish to withdraw your consent to the collection and processing of your data, contact us using the details in section Introduction. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
